Fires of Change

Fate, not the kind one you’d felt

When, sick, you scorn the hand you’re dealt

What you’ve built, so quick to melt

In undiscerning flames that burn

black the tranquility you yearn

Farewell all peace! Fate’s wheel turns.

No mercy spared on the aggrieved

But scorched the tangled web we weave

Allows our aching hearts relief –

Kind, in the end, those fires may be.
